Super fantastic kitami – Experience the charm

One-day tour

Kitami City has the largest number of yakiniku restaurants per 100,000 people in Hokkaido (one-day tour from/to Kitami)

Kitami City has the largest number of yakiniku restaurants per 100,000 people in Hokkaido.

This tour will allow participants to learn about the roots that led to today’s Kitami yakiniku, and to understand the importance of life and how the yakiniku we eat in our daily lives is distributed and brought to our tables. The participants will also have the opportunity to try their hand at making a fire using a variety of tools, something that is rarely done in Kitami Yakiniku, which is also eaten over a charcoal fire or a seven-wheeled stove. In Kitami City, there is a culture of eating unseasoned meat with cured sauce made with plenty of vegetables and fruits.

Under the theme of “Super fantastic kitami – experience the charm of kitami,” a yakiniku tour to experience the process of eating in “Kitami,” the city of yakiniku.

9:00~ Meet at the south exit of the Central Promenade (south side of Kitami Station)

Departure will be at 9:15 a.m. Please be there by 9:10 a.m.

9:45~ Mirai Farm 【Ranch Tour】(Higyuuchi, Hitano-cho, Kitami City)

Cattle raised in the blessed natural environment of Kitami City are introduced to the world as “Kitami Wagyu. You will learn the value of life by observing the cows up close, which are bred with love and pride for this region.

11:40~ Mr. Konno’s Onion Farm in Nokonpu Town (Onion Harvesting Experience)

Onions from the “Kitamirai area” boast the largest production in Japan!

Experience harvesting at Mr. Konno’s real onion farm in Kunshofu Town.

After the harvesting experience, have lunch with “Tamakoro Burger” in the onion field.

13:10- JA Kitamirai Aiuchi Onion Collection, Shipping and Sorting Facility [Facility Tour].

JA Kitamurai’s onion production accounts for about 40% of the total production in Hokkaido and 20% of the total production in Japan. The JA Kitamirai Onion Collection, Shipping, and Sorting Facility is one of the largest collection and shipping facilities in Japan, and has been in full-scale operation since the harvest season in 2019. The tour will include a commentary by a staff member.

Participants will interact with each other while experiencing Kitami style barbeque.

Enjoy beef sagari, pork horumon, and locally grown vegetables on a shichirin grill.
